Legends of the Autobahn
The German car owners had been feeling neglected, partly because Concorso Italiano‘s continuous changing venues (prior to the new owners) had neglected the visitor paddocks where the BMWs and Porsches used to gather. They decided to create their own gathering in Carmel Valley down the way from the ultra exclusive Quail event. This is their second year and it appears they are where Concorso was back in the early 90’s. The event was very low key but with a fine gathering of Teutonic machinery including the re-created Mercedes race transporter and surprise colection of prewar BMWs. The event is free to the public (at least for now) and well worth the stop amongst the many events on Friday.! (photos by Chuck Forward)
